We begin in the riverside village of Marius, where you’ll discover traditional water-powered technology and the resourceful ways local communities once harnessed nature. From there, we travel to Monemvasia, a fortified town frozen in time. Travel back to the glory of Byzantium and into the heart of Greek tradition on this full-day journey through the mountains of the Peloponnese. From cliffside monasteries to medieval cities and vibrant villages, this tour offers an inspiring blend of spiritual heritage, history, and living culture.
We begin with a visit to the Monastery of Elona, perched dramatically on the cliffs of Mount Parnon. From there, we’ll ascend to the mountain village of Kosmas, nestled in fir forests at over 1100 meters.
The centerpiece of the day is a guided tour of Mystras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and once the crown jewel of the Byzantine Empire. Roam its fortified slopes, wander through palaces and churches, and absorb views of Sparta and the sea from this once-mighty citadel.
We conclude at the Olive Oil Museum in Sparta, where the region’s iconic olive heritage comes to life.

We begin in Kastanitsa, a whitewashed Tsakonian village tucked among chestnut forests. Known for its rare dialect, traditional architecture, and chestnut-based culinary traditions, Kastanitsa offers a glimpse into a vanishing way of life. Next, we head to Platanos, a car-free village surrounded by pristine nature. Here, we’ll embark on a 5.5 km guided walk along old shepherds’ paths, through lush forests and gentle river crossings. It’s a refreshing hike.
Along the way, we’ll also pause at the Moustos Wetlands viewpoint, offering insight into the region’s diverse natural landscapes.
